Perfect Love

Perfect Love

Most Christians know John 3:16 so well that we have become numb to it. Why do we often stop there instead of digging into the entire word? Let’s just pray right now: “Lord, give us a greater revelation of your perfect love for us and all of humanity. Amen!”

Charity

Love is also translated as “charity” which means giving without any requirements or expectations from the receiver.

A revelation of God’s perfect love has the power to not only transform you to the core but also to flow through you to reveal your Father and his true nature to everyone in your path.

Spiritual Dyslexia

One problem that gets in the way of fully understanding God’s perfect love is what Andrew Wommack calls “spiritual dyslexia.” We misinterpret scripture. We place the heavy burden that Jesus bore on the cross back on ourselves and others.

Try Harder or Believe

1 John 4:12 says that “if we love one another, God dwells in us, and his love is perfected in us.” We see this verse and assume that we have to try harder to love one another.

“Loving one another” is the fruit that is naturally produced when we believe that God does dwell in us and his love is perfected in us!

God In Us

How many times are we told in the New Testament that God has put his Holy Spirit in us? But, instead of rejoicing in what that means, we allow the deceiver to twist God’s word putting a heavy burden on us.

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

1 Corinthians 3:16

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

1 Corinthians 6:19

You are His

You are not your own because you are His. He loves you. God guides you. He protects you. God is patient with you. He is kind to you. God casts your sin as far as the east is from the west. He has chosen to completely forget all of your naughtiness! God Almighty fights for you.

He paid the ultimate price for you because of his overwhelming love for you! He is saying, “You are my son; you are my daughter; nobody, and I mean nobody messes with my kids!” Hallelujah! Just believe what he says.

Have you been mistakenly taught that you need to be willing to go the ultimate distance because Jesus is your treasure? What a heavy burden.

You are the Treasure

You are his treasure, and he has already paid the ultimate price. When we believe what he says, we are free to delight ourselves in him and his finished work.

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

Matthew 13:44

The following verse from the Old Testament confirms that we are his treasure:

Now, therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:

Exodus 19:5

Remember that all of God’s promises are yes in Jesus. Jesus fulfilled all the if/then statements in the Old Testament.

For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

2 Corinthians 1:20

God’s love for you is perfect.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love.

1 John 4:18

Are you living in fear? If you are, this verse is just letting you know that you need to seek and ask for a greater revelation of God’s love for you. His love casts out the fear that the tormentor brings through tragedy, sickness, destruction, and poverty.

God is love.

He that loves not knows not God; for God is love.

1 John 4:8

This verse is not telling you to try harder to love. This verse is simply saying that when we know God and his love, we will naturally produce the spiritual fruit of love.

Know and Believe

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

1 John 4:16-17

Wow! These verses say a lot! When we know and believe God and his love, we have boldness in the day of judgment. Who do you think would like for us to continue being in fear and unbelief?

Do you see the last stated fact in verse 17? We can have this perfected love and boldness because we are, right now, in this world, just as Jesus is right now. This is not an opinion. This is what God says about us in his word!

Is Jesus sick? Worried? Broke? Angry? No, no, no, no! He is seated at the right hand of the throne of God in heaven (1 Peter 3:22, Hebrews 12:2).

The more you understand God’s love, the more YouWillWantTo.
