Who Am I?

Who Am I?

Philemon 1:6 tells us to ask, “Who am I?” to make our faith effective! If you are in Christ Jesus, then Christ Jesus is in you! Can the Holy Spirit of Jesus touch anything and not make it perfect (2 Corinthians 5:21)? NO! Your born-again spirit is now alive with Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27).

Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. – 1Pe 1:16 KJV

This Truth is not based on feelings or emotions, but on the Truth, the Word of God (Luke 4:4, Proverbs 30:5). Every Word that comes from the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4) does not deny the facts but has the power to change the facts.

Christ is in You!

To whom God would make known what [is] the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: – Col 1:27 KJV

John tells us in Revelation 1:9 that he is our companion in the tribulation and in the kingdom of Jesus Christ! Jesus tells us that the kingdom of God is within you (Luke 17:21). It is written in Colossians 1:13 that we have already been translated into the kingdom of Jesus. That is if we are truly born again (Romans 1:28, 1 Peter 1:23)!

Thus Saith the Lord

Not every word that is written in the Bible is spoken by God!

Did God inspire every word that is written to be recorded for our benefit? Yes!

Spoken by God? NO!

Job Repented!

Job said, “God gives and takes away (Job 1:21)!” Job later admits, “I am full of confusion in my affliction (Job 10:15)!”

We can learn from Job 1:7, 2:2 that the devil was on the scene roaming around seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). There is absolutely no indication that Job knew there was a devil. Or that the Bible calls the devil the “god of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4).” God has revealed the whole Truth to New Testament believers.

For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. – Rom 15:4 KJV

This sounds so simple. But we have a tendency to think that what Cain, Job, etc. said is what God is saying. It’s not!

What Does Jesus Say?

Jesus says, “I came to give life and life more abundantly, it is the devil that takes away (John 10:10)!”

Faith is believing God over the facts

God gives all things to enjoy.
1 Timothy 6:17 God gives all things to enjoy!

All the fiery darts of the wicked come in the form of facts and lies or

  • F-false
  • E-evidence
  • A-appearing
  • R-real

The fact WAS that I had been diagnosed with two chronic progressive incurable diseases stealing my daily life more and more day by day. We are all going to die a physical death, but I got to the point where I was praying for God to quicken the pace.

BE HEALTHY–My personal healing journey.

I had to learn how to walk by faith in what God says and not by my five physical senses (2 Corinthians 5:7)

  1. How my body feels.
  2. What the doctor says.
  3. My deteriorating eyesight.
  4. The smell of death.
  5. The taste of all those medications.

Those WERE the facts! I had to learn to take the shield of faith up along with my helmet of salvation (Ephesians 6:17).

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. – Eph 6:16 KJV

TRUTH (Ephesians 6:14)

The Truth is that God Himself wishes above all things that we would receive the wealth, health, and wisdom that He has already provided along with salvation through the finished work of Jesus on the cross!

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. – 3Jo 1:2 KJV

But Starla, that is John talking to Gaius! Yes! Just like all of the letters in the New Testament are written to specific people and groups.

Rightly Dividing

Let’s pray that we can learn to rightly divide God’s written Word.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. – 2Ti 2:15 KJV

Study to answer, “Who Am I?”

I used to think “Study to show yourself approved unto God” meant I had to prove something by my works. But now I understand that I need to study to answer the question, “Who Am I?” in Christ (Colossians 1:21-22)! I am already approved unto God! I need to study to show myself (Ephesians 1:5-9)! Hallelujah!

And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in [your] mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled – Col 1:21 KJV

Not seeking to know God through studying His Word are the wicked works that allow the enemy to get into our minds to steal, kill, and destroy!

Jesus has already made us accepted!

To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. – Eph 1:6 KJV

Just as God was talking directly to Cain right before he killed Abel (Genesis 4:6-7), God is talking to each of us in various ways and especially in His written Word (2 Timothy 3:15-17).

I am the good shepherd, and know my [sheep], and am known of mine. – Jhn 10:14 KJV
And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, [and] one shepherd. – Jhn 10:16 KJV
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: – Jhn 10:27 KJV

You Are His!

When the enemy causes you to ask, “Who am I?” by asking “If you are a child of God…”

Satan questioned Jesus’ identity in Matthew 4:3 and as follows:

And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in [their] hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. – Mat 4:6 KJV

Just as Jesus is so are we in this world (1 John 4:17). Hebrews 4:15 tells us that Jesus was tempted with every temptation we will ever be faced with. If the enemy can get us into doubt and unbelief to make us try to prove by our circumstances that we are who Jesus says we are, then we are defeated!

Presumption

Examples of this are people trying to handle deadly snakes to prove the Word of God. People have died trying to walk on water in floods to prove God or their faith. Another example is when people stop taking their medications to prove that they believe that they are healed. This is not faith but presumption.

Circumstances/Facts Are Temporary!

Paul knew who he was in Christ regardless of his circumstances or facts (Philippians 4:11-13).

It is Written!

We must know, what “is written!” and most especially the Author and Finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2)! Knowing the Father and Jesus is life eternal (John 17:3).

Who Am I?

I am who He says I am!

  • I am a child of God (Romans 8:16, Galatians 3:26, John 11:52).
  • I am created by Him for good works (Ephesians 2:10).
  • Jesus is always with me (Hebrews 13:5)!
  • I am the bearer of good news (Isaiah 52:6-7).
  • My body is the temple of the Holy Ghost (1 Corinthians 6:19).
  • I am a friend of God (John 15:15)!
  • I am chosen by God (John 15:16)!
  • I am wealthy (Proverbs 10:22, 2 Corinthians 8:9).
  • I am healed (Isaiah 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24).
  • I am wise (1 John 2:20-21).
  • I believe (Acts 13:39, Romans 3:22, Hebrews 10:39).

Three Free Resources I Use Daily
