Welcome to THANKSGIVING week.  The world sees it as a DAY, but Christians see it as an everyday recognition. When I ASKED (JOHN 14:13-14) the Holy SPIRIT for the theme of this week’s post, he brought back to my remembrance (JOHN 14:26) – I AM THE GOD THAT HEALETH THEE video. 

Our HEALTH is in the NEWS around the world these days, and for some, our personal health, or the health of a loved one. For me, a loved one!  And when I heard the news, the HOLY SPIRIT immediately brought this video to my remembrance. It has been one of my favorite videos for years! I listened and watched it again, and my HEART was full of LOVE for my LORD JESUS and the price he paid on the cross.  HEALING and HEALTH were part of the HIS PLAN.

Two scriptures were given in this video regarding GOD OUR HEALER.

PSALMS 107:20

He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. 

JEREMIAH 30:17

I will RESTORE HEALTH unto thee, and I will HEAL thee of thy wounds,sayeth the LORD; because he called them an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after 

The WORD is an instrument in God’s healing process.  It is the written WORD being preached, proclaimed, and applied in a given situation that is the key.

EXAMPLES OF JESUS HEALING   

• Man with leprosy (MATTHEW 8:1-4)
• Peter’s mother-in-law (MATTHEW 8:14-15)
• Two Demon-Possessed men (MATTHEW 8:28-32)
• Two blind men (MATTHEW 9:27-31)
• Many in Gennesaret as they touched his cloak (MATTHEW 14:34-36, MARK 6:53-56)
• Syrophoenician woman’s demon-possessed daughter (MATTHEW 15:21-28, MARK 7:24-30)
• Women with the issue of blood (MARK 5:24-34, LUKE 8:42-48)
• Deaf and mute man (MARK 7:31-37)
• Blind man at Bethesda (MARK 8:22-26)
• Royal official’s son in Capernaum (JOHN 4:46-54)
• Man at the Pool of Bethesda (JOHN 5:5-15)
• Blind from birth (JOHN 9:1-12)

JESUS HEALED WITHOUT A QUESTIONNAIRE LISTING ALL THE SICKNESSES

JOHN 5:19-20 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do; for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the son likewise 20. For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth; and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. 

These scriptures took me on a seek and find where GOD healed in the Old Testament. I was WOW’D at what I found.  Here are a few examples of HEALING in the Old Testament:

SPECIFIC HEALINGS RECORDED IN THE OLD TESTAMENT

GEN 20:1-18, NUM 12:1-15, 1 SAM 1:9-20, 1 KINGS 13:4-6, 1 KINGS 17:24, 2 KINGS 4:8-17, 2 KINGS 9:18-37, 2 KINGS 13:21, 2 KINGS 20:1-7, 2 CHRON 32:24-26, ISA 38:1-8, JOB 42:10-17, DANIEL 4:34 and the list goes on. 

This could be a long study of healing in the OLD TESTAMENT.  Jesus only did what he saw HIS FATHER DO!  And his FATHER DID HEAL in the OLD TESTAMENT since JESUS was not born yet!!! 

WHEN JESUS FINISHED HIS MINISTRY ON EARTH

JOHN 14:12-14 Verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. 13. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14. If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it. 

CLARIFICATION: The Holy Spirit will only DO what will GLORIFY THE SON (James 4:3)!  A BIG difference in asking anything. 

HERE IS WHERE THE “RUBBER MEETS THE ROAD”

Until we connect with what JESUS said IN our HEART, the miracles that He performed will not be made manifest in our lives.  Jesus performed at least 37 miracles during his three-year ministry, from turning water into wine, feeding the thousands with only a few fish, etc. Approximately two-thirds of his recorded miracles involved healing, not including casting out evil spirits or raising people from the dead > FOUR DAYS LATE article. 

JESUS GAVE HIS DISCIPLES THE POWER TO HEAL

As I listened to it again, these WORDS popped off the screen at me …

• You are the LORD:
• That HEALTHETH ME.
•  MY Healer.
•  HEALETH MY Disease.

These lyrics are PERSONAL.  Just as I wrote the article, PSALM 23 – MAKE IT PERSONAL > when we pray and believe it is PERSONAL our FAITH increases (Romans 10:17). And the closer we get to the RECEIVING (Mark 11:23-24).
