Going After The Promises of God

How far are you willing to go after the promises of God? What steps of faith are you taking to see the manifestation of what you are hoping for? There are many incredible accounts in the Bible showing what great lengths people went to, to receive what they were believing for.

Perseverance of Four Crazy Friends

One account told of four crazy friends who went so far as to bust through the roof of a house to see Jesus. They knew healing would be possible if they could just get their paralyzed friend to Jesus. By stepping out in faith and taking such extreme measures, they received exactly what they were believing for.

Strength, Faith and Great Courage Of An Afflicted Woman

Another account told of a woman who had been subject to bleeding for 12 years. She risked her life crawling through a crowd of people so that she could just touch the hem of Jesus’s clothing. Her faith told her that she could receive her healing and nothing was going to stop her. That step of faith was both dangerous and illegal for her to do, yet it was the very thing that led to her finally being healed.

Fed Up Blind Man Says, “No More!”

There was also a blind beggar that had heard Jesus was coming by. Excitedly, he knew it was his moment. He made the decision that he would no longer remain a blind beggar. He screamed as loud as he could to get Jesus’s attention. People all around told him to be quiet and to stop screaming. Bartimaeus wasn’t giving up. He screamed louder and persisted until Jesus acknowledged him. That day Bartimaeus was set free.

Finishing The Race Before Him, Noah Builds An Ark

One very well known story is about a faithful and righteous man named Noah. Noah labored approximately 100 years to build an ark, enduring endless mocking and ridicule. He was preparing for an event that nobody believed would ever happen. He persevered despite all of the challenges and finally completed the ark. That courageous and immensely challenging step of faith, saved him and his family from the flood that destroyed the earth.

HOW CAN YOU GO AFTER THE PROMISES OF GOD

To go after God’s promises and live in His best you must be willing to go that extra mile and risk persecution. The Bible says, “Faith without works is dead,” James 2:26. It is our faith in God and His word that enables us to step out and do what we normally would not consider. We do it because we know that when we put our trust in Him, He’s going to do what He promises. God is no respecter of persons and He does not lie.

As your relationship with God grows, it becomes easier to take these steps of faith because you know He wouldn’t call you to do something that He hasn’t given you the power to do. You also know that He will never leave you nor forsake you. It is our relationship with Him that builds trust. The more you get to know God and recognize all of the amazing ways He works in your life, your expectations will grow. Take a step of faith today and see the manifestation of what you are hoping for come to pass. You will surely be blessed.

Mark 11:22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.”

James 1:22 But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.

Hebrews 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.”

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
