Category: Knowing God

Jesus tells us in John 17:3 that life eternal is knowing God. There is so much confusion about God’s character in the world but more importantly in the church! How well you know God will affect how you interpret the Bible. Let’s take the veil off by getting to know Him through His word (Hebrews 6:19, 10:20).

I love how Malachi 3:16 defines the fear of the Lord:

Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.
Those that fear the LORD, talk to each other often and think upon His name! How many of God’s names are discouraging? If ALL of God’s names are good and encouraging, why are so many people discouraged and fearful today?
According to Titus 1:15-16, there is a difference between knowing God and professing to know Him:
Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
You can begin by reading and studying His word today.
Purge!

Purge!

In John 15:2, Jesus says that the branch that bears fruit will be purged that it may bring forth more fruit. “Ouch!” By the world’s definition and by many Christians’ interpretation that sounds painful. Purge means “to cleanse.” It Means Cleanse The very next verse says that we are cleansed through the word that Jesus has spoken to us (John 15:3). That lines up with 2 Timothy 3:16-17 which says all scripture is good for teaching and equipping the saints…

Perfect Love

Perfect Love

Most Christians know John 3:16 so well that we have become numb to it. Why do we often stop there instead of digging into the entire word? Let’s just pray right now: “Lord, give us a greater revelation of your perfect love for us and all of humanity. Amen!” Charity Love is also translated as “charity” which means giving without any requirements or expectations from the receiver. A revelation of God’s perfect love has the power to not only transform…

Is God In Control?

Is God In Control?

The simple answer to this question is yes and no. God is the beginning and the end. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. Revelation 21:6 God created everything that has ever been created. He holds it all together. And he is patiently waiting because his desire is that none should perish….

In the Beginning

In the Beginning

The Bible starts out by telling us about the beginning of time as we know it. “In the beginning, God created (Genesis 1:1).” Paradise. God created (Genesis 1:1) the heaven and earth and everything beautiful and pleasurable for a life of bliss (Genesis 2:8) and dominion (Genesis 1:28) (law: absolute ownership). Everything He has just spent days creating, God calls, “good (Genesis 1:25)” until He creates man and woman (Genesis 1:27) in His own image. Then everything He has made…
