A Living Sacrifice

A Living Sacrifice

Romans 12 starts out telling us to present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God. Paul goes on to say that this is our “reasonable service.” Thank God verse two starts with the word “and,” because it is frustrating to hear a command in the Bible, and not know how to obey it.

But Be Transformed

We present ourselves as a living sacrifice the same way we don’t conform to this world. We renew our minds.

God gives us His mercy and grace so that we CAN prove or walk out His good and acceptable and perfect will! Hallelujah!

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Romans 12:1-2

Know the will of God through His word, and prove it in your life daily by renewing your mind! It really is that simple to present your bodies a living sacrifice thanks to our Lord and Savior, Jesus!

Spirit, Soul, and Body

Jesus has already made us complete in our born-again spirits and sealed us with His Holy Spirit. These verses are telling us how to renew our minds which naturally lines our physical bodies up as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God. That’s right naturally because we have a new nature because we are new creations. Thank You, Jesus!

You can choose to get a revelation of who God really is and the sacrifice He truly made through Jesus. Then present your body as a living sacrifice because that has become one of the greatest desires of your heart.

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly, and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 5:23

When we spend time reading the Bible, we are being cleansed by the washing of the word (Ephesians 5:26).

Be Aware

I read the Bible for over twelve years, but the enemy was able to come and steal the word out of my heart for years because I didn’t understand. Jesus explains this in the parable of the sower.

Parable of the Sower

Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

Those by the wayside are they that hear; then comes the devil, and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

Luke 8:11-12

When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then comes the wicked one, and catches away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the wayside.

Matthew 13:19

I had wanted to know God for years before I was saved in 2008. Unfortunately, I had never heard about salvation in a way that I could understand even though I had been to a few different churches and pretty regularly a few times. After a wonderful godly person informed me that I had committed one of the “seven deadly sins,” I became desperate. I could no longer compare myself among others and think that I was good enough.

For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

2 Corinthians 10:12

What are the “seven deadly sins?”

I have no idea what the “seven deadly sins” are, and I don’t even care! There is only one deadly sin, and that is rejecting Jesus. He came into this world to be born of a virgin, to live the sinless life we were unable to live, suffer, die, and be raised from the dead to save us from our sins. Rejecting Him is the one and only deadly sin. Apart from Jesus, nothing else really matters because everything else falls into place. We are able to love and live unashamed, unhindered, and completely unafraid! That, my friends, is my definition of health, wealth, wisdom, and complete freedom!

You Will Want To

When you spend time reading the Bible every day, YouWillWantTo present your body as a living sacrifice.

Let’s pray for a deeper revelation of God’s gracious love for us and for the world and to submit ourselves to His will on earth as it is in heaven.

Prayer to be a living sacrifice

Father,

Thank You for Your word and for Your fellowship. Thank You that we know that You delight in us as we delight ourselves in You. We choose to submit ourselves to You, Your will, Your ways here on earth as it is in heaven. Give us a greater revelation today of Your love for us and for all of humanity. We pray that we will submit our bodies to You every moment as a living sacrifice and be transformed by the renewing our minds by reading, studying, and meditating on Your word. Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, and You have chosen to place all of that in us through Your precious Holy Spirit. Thank You Father that You will never leave us nor forsake us! Amen!!!

Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.

Matthew 7:7-8
