To Judge or Not to Judge?

To Judge or Not to Judge?

I see and hear goodhearted Christians too often unaware of judging God and other people. Surely, we know we should never judge God, but the question remains, “Are we to judge or not to judge other people?” And then, “Why?” or “Why not?”

Judge God? Really?

And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, [thou] wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow: – Luke 19:22 KJV

In “The Parable of Money Usage (Luke 19:11-27)” and “The Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30),” Jesus is explaining the kingdom of God here on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10, John 10:9).

If we think that God gives and takes away and we are supposed to be just like Him, we fall into the trap of treating people the same way. When they are good in our opinion or judgment, we give. But when they are bad, we take away from them or punish them!

Know Who Takes Away!

The words, “He gives and takes away” came to my mind the other day. I asked Jesus, “Don’t you take away sin, sickness, disease, and everything else the devil uses to steal, kill, and destroy?”

“No. I don’t!”

Then, the realization of the sicknesses and diseases that I am allowing to hurt my body hit me.

Yes, I take full responsibility! God is not my problem!

In the Beginning

God created us in His image and gave us power and dominion over our spirits, souls, and bodies.

All Power Is Given

Jesus came and gave back to us what God had given us from creation.

I was recently diagnosed with cancer. Thank God, I knew He didn’t put it there. My family and I immediately went and had that demonic thing cut out of my body!

Again, I thank God for all the medical personnel. God calls them to meet us where we are in our faith. He gives them the desire of their hearts to serve in the medical field.

According to Your Faith

Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. – Matthew 9:29 KJV

Yes, we judge God according to our faith (Romans 10:17). Also, we receive what we believe (Mark 11:24).

God reminded me that He has made a way for all of humanity to take authority and dominion over ourselves and our world.

You Can Hear God’s Voice

But too many of the people who even call themselves Christians drown themselves in the sewage of the world and wonder why they can’t hear God! Don’t be condemned. Just repent (1 John 1:9)!

The Will of God

God will reveal Himself, His specific plan for your life, and His will for you and all of humanity in direct proportion to your willingness to seek Him (Jeremiah 29:12-13).

To Judge or Not to Judge…People

God calls us to judge righteously (Deuteronomy 16:18-20).

What?

Paul explains in 1 Corinthians 6 that the church should take responsibility to judge among the brethren. He says that we will judge the angels (1 Corinthians 6:3).

Does anyone know of any congregations who are doing this today? We should have an unbiased council ready to judge any and every dispute among the brethren. But we wonder why there is so much division!

Unfortunately, people judge when they are not appointed to or even asked!

Hypocrisy

Yes! And Christians especially are being judged constantly. Not only by the world but especially by the religious hypocrites!

Get Over It!

People who haven’t been appointed are going to judge you.

When people tried to get Jesus to do this, He refused!

And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you? – Luke 12:14 KJV

So, don’t do it! But know that ignorant disobedient people will judge you!

Who cares?

Well, I used to care. I didn’t know any better.

Because of false religion, I let the opinions of others wreck me for days, weeks, and even the first 32 years of my life.

Now I know it is nothing but a distraction from the thief (John 10:10).

Jesus Doesn’t Care

He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. … When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you? … From that [time] many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. – John 6:56, 61, 66 KJV

He told people to like it or lump it.

I receive not honour from men. – John 5:41 KJV

Jesus says to count the cost, not the benefits (Matthew 8:20,
Luke 9:58).

The benefits are immeasurable (Hebrews 11:6, 1 John 5:4, 3 John 1:2).

Whose Problem is it?

God asked me this amazing question one time, “Whose problem is it?”

How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that [cometh] from God only? – John 5:44 KJV

He revolutionized my thinking and still is! That’s what He does.

I receive honor all the time from people. But I don’t seek it or expect it. I am not responsible for obtaining it or maintaining it.

Jesus Is Lord!

Not only is Jesus’ name above every name but so is His opinion above every other opinion. Hallelujah!

That is why every Christian must know their new identity in Christ Jesus! Unless you want to be rendered almost completely useless.

That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. – Philemon 1:6 KJV

False religion demands that the Saints make their faith almost completely ineffective by acknowledging all their past, present, and future mistakes.

The Bible says in Colossians 1:27, “Christ is in you, the hope of glory.” I pray right now that you get a revelation of what that means! To you, for you, and through you to the whole world that He loves (John 3:16, Revelation 12:11).

It Is Finished!

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. – John 19:30 KJV

Jesus says that He has already paid the price. What a slap in His face!

For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. – 2 Corinthians 5:21 KJV

What part of “the righteousness of God in Him” do we not understand?

I Don’t Even Judge Myself

What?

But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man’s judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self. – 1 Corinthians 4:3 KJV

Wesley and I have so much fun laughing at other people nitpicking us and even our family for stupid things. What a joke! We don’t even like some of the stupid things we say and do.

Why should we even waste one moment caring what someone else thinks about us?

Don’t even start with some of the thoughts we have to cast down and hold captive to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; – Romans 3:23 KJV

Just If I’d

Jesus is faithful and true! He did all the work and judged all of humanity worthy to receive His righteousness! We don’t have to try to look good or sound good. Just enjoy Jesus! Hallelujah!

Judge as You Want to Be Judged

In Matthew 7, Jesus tells us, “Don’t judge!”

But why not Jesus?

Because you are opening up the door to be judged!

By God?

No!

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. – John 3:17 KJV

The following link takes you to a free course that Wesley and I took together:

Hillsdale College: The David Story

One of the greatest takeaways I received from this course is that King David pronounced a fourfold judgment on himself. Why? Because he thought he was judging someone else.

For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. – Matthew 7:2 KJV

You Will Want To be free from unjust judgment, guilt, shame, condemnation, etc. because this is life more abundant. This is life eternal!
