Hypocrites

Hypocrites

The world calls people who “sin” and then go to church “hypocrites.” And some of them may be. As with everything else, it isn’t the outward appearance that God is looking at.

But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, [ye] hypocrites? – Mat 22:18 KJV

As A Man Thinks

God sees the heart (Proverbs 23:7). We should never try to judge or discern between sinner or saint (Romans 10:6-9). We should only concern ourselves with staying in communion with Jesus!

If you haven’t gotten into the Word of God and asked Him to reveal your own heart (1 John 3:19-21), then you are taking a very real risk of being what Jesus calls a “hypocrite.” See Jeremiah 17:9-10. Without the knowledge of God (Jeremiah 17:7-8), our hearts can be “desperately wicked (Jeremiah 17:9).”

Be Diligent

I am very intentional about studying God’s Word and being in fellowship with Jesus because He is awesome (John 17:3)! He is the only way for this sister to do life anymore. I am completely sold out. So help me God. Amen! In Jesus’ name. Amen!

Diligence helps to keep me on the straight and narrow path (Proverbs 2:8). Few find it because they are not in the light looking for it (Psalm 119:105, Proverbs 4:18). I want to (Psalm 37:4) and I will stay single-minded and always “only believe (Mark 5:36, Luke 8:50).” Again, this is my heart’s cry. And my God is faithful. He answers all of my prayers!

You Already Have It

The Unlimited Promises of God

Keep Your Heart

Are you keeping your heart with all diligence (Proverbs 4:23)? God is “a consuming fire” now, in this world (Hebrews 12:29, John 15:6, Mark 9:49, Luke 3:9, 9:54-56, Acts 2:3, 1 Corinthians 3:13-17, 2 Thessalonians 1:8).

God’s Will

Look at Luke 9:53-56 again. It is not God’s will to burn anyone up! The disciples wanted to burn these people up because they would not receive Jesus!

For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save [them]. And they went to another village. – Luk 9:56 KJV

Your Will, Choose Your God

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? – Rom 6:16 KJV

Heart Condition

We see that the fire in Daniel was no respecter of persons but of the heart (Daniel 3:17, 22-23, 25). We get to choose to sow the incorruptible seed into our own heart until we become the good ground (Matthew 13:23, 1 peter 1:23-25).

I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. – Rom 6:19-20 KJV

Or, we can invest most of our “free” time and resources into piping the sewage of the world into our homes and minds and continue to suffer the harvest (Galatians 6:8). We can blame God too, but He will not be mocked (Galatians 6:7)!

What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things [is] death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. – Rom 6:21-22 KJV

Accusers!

Hypocrites are accusers just like their father the author of lies (John 8:44, Revelation 12:10).

Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said, – Job 15:1 KJV

For the congregation of hypocrites [shall be] desolate, and fire shall consume the tabernacles of bribery. – Job 15:34 KJV

Yes, hypocrites accuse, judge, and even damn hypocrites while they justify themselves (self-righteousness). Just like the devil, they know and will speak God’s Word right back at you (Matthew 4:3-6). They just tweak it and twist it just enough to accuse God and man (Matthew 25:24-26)! In Matthew 22:18, Jesus revealed their wicked hearts to the hypocrites. After He called them out, he continued to define hypocrisy. That is love (Leviticus 19:17-18)!

The Great Squabble!

Do you really think that Jesus is in heaven sitting at the right hand of the Father begging God to forgive us and bless us “Because really they’re just stupid! I tried to save them, but they are just like You, made in Our image!”

And I guess the Holy Spirit is watching this scene escalate because of the “great wrath of Almighty God, all-controlling dictator, and manipulator.”

And Holy Spirit is crying, “Please stop, Father and Son! Someone is going to get hurt! I will smack them all upside the head with the Bible and condemn them…uh, uh, uh…I mean…convict them all to hell! Again, I didn’t mean that. What I really meant to say was to convict them all to repentance!”

No wonder the family unit and marriage in the church is almost as destructive as what the world is trying to turn it into. And as heartbreaking and damaging!

None Should Perish

Just as God has set the bar as low as one can go for salvation (John 3:16, Romans 10:9-11) for “whosoever will believe in your heart and confess with your mouth!” I do not believe in “once saved always saved.”

But, I also don’t believe that you can “lose” your salvation by perhaps misplacing it for a moment.

For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. – Rom 6:23 KJV

I believe with all of my heart that I received Jesus as Lord and Savior as a child. Even though I didn’t submit to Him for a long time, I was still saved. I would have gone to heaven.

Then I got saved and became the biggest hypocrite of all!

My Salvation Story was written in July 2021.

Here is My Testimony was written in October of 2021.

Hypocrites: The Child of Hell?

I know there are a lot of hypocrites who are going to heaven. They are just wasting precious time here on earth making a few converts who are twice as fit for hell as they are.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves. – Mat 23:15 KJV

Let’s remember that we all fall short (Romans 3:23). We were all condemned before we believed (John 3:18).

Only The Good Die Young

I hate this song and its title! Death is not from God. Death is not a blessing in disguise! Healing and life more abundant are blessings from God. Deuteronomy 28 tells you what are blessings and what are curses. John 10:10 tells us that if it is bad, it is from the devil. If it is good, it is from God!

But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry not when he bindeth them. They die in youth, and their life [is] among the unclean. – Job 36:13-14 KJV

Elihu is the author of the book in the Bible, “Job.” He is the only human being in the book who has a clue before God reveals Himself to Job! You can quote Job. He wasn’t lying. But he was ignorant and confused (Job 10:15).

And unlike most Christians today, Job wasn’t willfully stupid! He didn’t have the Revelation of Jesus Christ at his fingertips (Galatians 1:12, 1 Peter 1:13, Revelation 1:1)! Or the New Testament! Or even a covenant with God that we know of.

Train Them Up!

How can we train our children in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6)?

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. – Rom 12:1-2 KJV

Resist Temptation

Are you renewing your mind by the washing of the word or being brainwashed to present your body and your loved ones as a sacrifice to the lusts of your flesh? The pride of life? The lusts of the eyes?

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as [we are, yet] without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. – Heb 4:15-16 KJV

Let’s resist the tempter, the devil, just like Jesus did, “It is written. (Matthew 4:4)” and Adam and Eve didn’t (Genesis 3)! Again, they didn’t have anything written!

For all that [is] in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. – 1Jo 2:16 KJV

And remember, the devil and hypocrites also know what is written (Matthew 4:6)! We don’t want to be like them! They believe in God but don’t believe Him.

Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. … And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. – Jas 2:19, 23 KJV

Your Reasonable Service

The word translated “fathers” in the next verse is “patēr” and can also be translated as below:

either the nearest ancestor: father of the corporeal nature, natural fathers, both parents

G3962-BlueLetterBible

I explain below why I wanted to make the point that this is probably talking to mothers as well!

And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. – Eph 6:4 KJV

Wrath is bad along with provoking (devil John 10:10). Wrath is ungodly. Revelation reveals to us that “…the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath…” And even tells us why! “…because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”

Being in fear and in a hurry is ungodly! It doesn’t matter who you are trying to please or impress! I am not saying slow down and be late for your obligations. Maybe you should! I don’t know.

Jesus teaches us to take time to prepare ourselves for every opportunity to be walking in the Spirit instead of fear, doubt, unbelief, unpreparedness, etc.!

Nurture and Admonition of the Lord!

Our good Lord, Jesus is nurturing and He only admonishes us with His Words!

But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned [them]; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. – 2Ti 3:14-17 KJV

Not Just For Men!

There is no more male or female in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:28). Jesus restored everything and everyone that will submit themselves to Him back to creation. In earth, as it is in heaven!

I have provoked my children unto wrath when I was a self-righteous, pompous, hypocrite! Was I saved? Yes! Without a doubt! But I was hellish and ungodly. I was judgmental and harsh. Also, I was cruel and nitpicking to my family and those who were closest to me.

I Was a Foolish Woman

So help me God, I will never bring Satan into my home to torture and torment my husband and children again!

Every wise woman hath builded her house, And the foolish with her hands breaketh it down. – Pro 14:1 YLT

Who Among Us?

The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings? – Isa 33:14 KJV

Isaiah 33:15-17 answers the above question! Those who truly have the fear of the Lord don’t accuse Him like the wicked servant. Like the hypocrites, the other wicked servant claims to fear his Master. The problem is, they really don’t know Him nor seek Him while He may be found.

They Are Hypocrites

Hypocrites truly believe they are honoring God with their words. The only problem is, they are their words. They may even be in the Bible, but not God’s Words!

Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near [me] with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: – Isa 29:13 KJV
This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with [their] lips; but their heart is far from me. – Mat 15:8 KJV
He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with [their] lips, but their heart is far from me. – Mar 7:6 KJV

Their hearts are far from God though.

Why?

Because they are reading and studying but never come to know Him or who He created them to be.

Don’t Let Those Creeps In!

For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. – 2Ti 3:6-7 KJV

I have heard so many Christians including myself say that we should be as determined or as zealous as “the creeps,” but I know better now! Hallelujah! Don’t come to my house unless you are invited or selling Girl-Scout cookies. wahaha!

2 Timothy 3:7 used to bother me so badly because I was a silly woman laden with sins and ever learning but so confused! Repent! Pray for wisdom. Believe God! Receive every good and perfect gift (2 Corinthians 1:20). Love and be patient with yourself (1 Corinthians 13:4-7).

The Fear of the Lord

Malachi 3:16 is one of my favorite examples of those who truly fear the Lord. They know Him, and praise Him because they have tasted and seen that He really is good all the time! They also get together and fellowship together often. What a blessed time to be with like-minded believers!

Psalm 1

Why Ask?

I love this: “That your joy may be full.” God wants your joy to be full!!!

The Lord is Gracious

Peter tells us that if we will just lay some wrong thinking aside and taste that the Lord is gracious, we will desire more of Him and His word like a newborn baby wants milk.

You will want to know Him more!
