Walk in Divine Health

Walk in Divine Health

I saw a post that I made on Facebook last year on January 15, 2022. It said that I was healed and now walk in divine health. I started to share it again, but I didn’t know how to explain it.

Doubt and Unbelief

When Jesus was hanging on the cross, people walked by and made fun of Him.

And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest [it] in three days, – Mar 15:29 KJV
Save thyself, and come down from the cross. – Mar 15:30 KJV
Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save. – Mar 15:31 KJV
Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him. – Mar 15:32 KJV

Walk in Divine Health in Paradise

Even the ones being crucified with Him reviled Him!

Until one believed.

And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. – Luk 23:43 KJV
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. – Rev 2:7 KJV

Believe Only

On two occasions, Jesus is quoted saying that if we only believe His Words, we can walk in divine health. Christians are called to walk by faith in the Words of God. Unfortunately, even the church walks by sight instead of believing God.

But when Jesus heard [it], he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole. – Luk 8:50 KJV
As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. – Mar 5:36 KJV
How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that [cometh] from God only? – Jhn 5:44 KJV

We are told to deny ourselves the privilege of being honored by other people because we believe what God says. And we speak what God says even though it doesn’t align with our experiences.

Trials and Tribulations

We are clearly warned that we will face trials and tribulations in this world, but Jesus says, be of good cheer! In every situation, Jesus’ hearers were in perilous times when He told them to cheer up!

And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee. – Mat 9:2 KJV
But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. – Mat 14:27 KJV
For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid. – Mar 6:50 KJV
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. – Jhn 16:33 KJV
And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome. – Act 23:11 KJV

In Acts 27:22-25, Paul tells his hearers to “be of good cheer” although they were not in a perfect situation. We have a more sure word of prophecy than Paul seeing and hearing the angel of God. Peter even goes so far as to say that the scripture is even more sure than hearing the audible voice of God from heaven (2 Peter 1:17-21)!

Scripture

I could have peace and joy through my 13-day trial in the hospital and two surgeries because I only believe what God says about me!

But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. – Isa 53:5 KJV
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. – 1Pe 2:24 KJV

I won’t say that I haven’t gotten caught up in “situational” Christianity, walking by sight and not by faith. We have to be diligent and persevere through the same temptations to be able to walk by faith.

(For we walk by faith, not by sight:) – 2Co 5:7 KJV

Ask God

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all [men] liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. – Jas 1:5 KJV
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. – Jas 1:6 KJV
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: – 1Jo 5:14 KJV
And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. – 1Jo 5:15 KJV

But when I asked God how could I explain that I still believe that I walk in divine health, He told me to look at Paul and Jesus. What if they believed that God was punishing them or trying to teach them something? What if I had believed that I was suffering at the hand of my loving heavenly Father? Would I have had peace and joy now in this life? NO!

I would only have peace and joy about thinking about getting to heaven. God is going to be there. The one who is really causing bad things to happen is NOT going to be in heaven (John 10:10). Jesus is the same today as He was in the beginning and for all of eternity!

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. – Heb 13:8 KJV

I will continue to walk in divine health and to say what I believe until my physical body lines up with what God says (1 Thessalonians 5:23)! Sometimes, I cannot explain why it doesn’t look true, but I don’t care. I am not ashamed of the Gospel!

Persecution is the Cross!

Was my sickness “the cross that I must carry?” NO! It was my own stupidity and presumption! I stopped walking by faith and started walking by sight and “my own awesome accomplishments!”

Hypocrisy

I heard God’s voice (John 10:27) at least three times telling me to check my blood sugar. I had gotten my focus off of seeking first God and had started seeking the cares of this world (Mark 4:19). God wasn’t mad at me! He didn’t punish me for not submitting to His voice! I opened myself up to the devil (Ephesians 4:27, 6:11, 1 Peter 5:8).

The persecution I receive from my own thoughts and other people for saying that I walk in divine health when it really isn’t “the fact” that can be seen in the natural world is the cross! Denying ourselves the honor of men is the cross. And, God’s words change the facts!

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. – Rom 1:16 KJV
Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; – 2Ti 1:8 KJV
