The Light of the World
Christians are called to be the light of the world. What does that look like for me? Why is this so important? How can I walk this out?
What does being the light of the world look like for me?
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. – Mat 5:14 KJV
God gives us the desires of our hearts (Psalm 37:4). You will want to do everything God has for you! That’s exciting!
God knows the plans He has for you, and they are good (Jeremiah 29:11). He wants to reveal His plans to you even more than you want to know them.
Begin asking God to reveal the answer to this question for you specifically (Matthew 7:7, Luke 11:9).
Then believe Him (Mark 11:24)!
Doesn’t it just make perfect sense? The God who is love promises to give you the desires of your heart and also wants to give you the desires of your heart!
What?
One example in my life is that I always wanted to sing. That has always been a desire of my heart. Once I joined a local church body, I also joined the choir! That’s amazing!
I always had a desire to have twins. I wanted a boy and a girl! Wesley and I are blessed with four amazing children. The last two are twins! Hallelujah!
Covetousness
This is why covetousness is a sin! If you get distracted by wanting what others have, then you will miss out on the joy of the Lord (John 15:11, 2 John 1:12)! He delights in you and longs to give you the desires that He has specifically planted in you (Philemon 1:6).
Why is being the light of the world so important?
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. – Jhn 8:12 KJV
The world is creating more filth daily and snaring even the elect with lies, lust, deceitfulness, and calling evil good.
The enemy plants tares indoctrinated with religion among the wheat in our congregations (Matthew 13:25, 29-30). Don’t be deceived by hypocrisy and self-righteousness (Matthew 7:20-23)!
The church must stop trying to put out the darkness, and just be the light!
Come Alive!
Let your light shine!
As long as you are in this world and Jesus is in you, you are the light of the world! Hallelujah! Shine! Create! Explore! Live the abundant life Jesus came for you to LIVE (John 10:10).
How can I walk this out?
As Jesus is, so are you in this world (1 John 4:17).
As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. – Jhn 9:5 KJV
What are the desires of your heart? God wants to bless the work of your hands (Deuteronomy 28:12, Colossians 1:10).
Examine yourself, your desires, and your talents, and seek first His kingdom (Matthew 6:33).
Learn to delight yourself in the Lord.

What is Unbelief?
Jesus tells us to believe only (Mark 5:36, Luke 8:50). Before we can do this, we need to understand what unbelief really is and how crippling it can be.

I believe that I was born again as a child. But I wasn’t discipled. I am a disciple now, and this is the best, most rewarding investment that I have ever made for myself, my family, and my world (Hebrews 11:6).
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. – Jhn 15:10 KJV
Do you keep His commandments? What are His commandments? What does it actually mean to keep His commandments? You can know Him and His commandments (John 17:3)
Life Eternal
Everyone will live forever! Either in heaven with our Lord Jesus, Comforter, Savior, Creator, Father, or in hell for eternity (John 3:16-18). Life eternal does not refer to living forever. Find out how Jesus defines it and how you can freely receive it.
Are you condemning or shining Jesus’ light?
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. – Jhn 3:19 KJV
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. – Jhn 3:20 KJV
But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. – Jhn 3:21 KJV
