The Goodness of God
What does the Bible say leads people to repentance? The goodness of God! I know and thank God that all Christians have different callings and messages to publish.
And I am so very thankful that I am specifically called to preach, teach, and sing of the goodness of God!
Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness[G5544] and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? – Rom 2:4 KJV
Blue Letter Bible
I love You, Lord
We can boldly proclaim that we love the Lord. Because He first loved us (1 John 4:19, Revelation 1:5). It is not because of our goodness. Or work. Not because of anything good that we have or had to offer. But because God so loved the world (John 3:16) and because of the goodness of God.
For my yoke [is] easy,[G5543] and my burden is light. – Mat 11:30 KJV
Jesus
According to my understanding of the Scriptures and from looking up these words translated as “yoke” (coupling) and “easy” (goodness), Jesus is literally saying, “Joining Me is goodness!” Hallelujah!
For Your mercy never fails me
He saved us according to His mercy.
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; – Tit 3:5 KJV
We do good works from a place of acceptance because we are already accepted in the Beloved (Ephesians 1:6). If we allow ourselves to get bound up in doing good works to please God, we fall from grace (Galatians 5:4).
We not only put heavy burdens on ourselves but we tend to also lay them on everyone around us. The result is not the goodness of God that leads to repentance. But it causes an unholy dissatisfaction with ourselves and our whole world.

Lyrics retrieved at this link October 12, 2023
All my days, I’ve been held in Your hands
From the moment that I wake up
Until I lay my head
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God
‘Cause all my life You have been faithful
And all my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God
And be ye kind[G5543] one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you. – Eph 4:32 KJV
If so be ye have tasted that the Lord [is] gracious.[G5543] – 1Pe 2:3 KJV
Yes, these verses could have been translated, “Be goodness to each other!” And, “Taste that the Lord is goodness!”
Hear My Voice
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. – Rev 3:20 KJV

Do Good
Are you profitable in leading others to repentance?
They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good,[G5544] no, not one. – Rom 3:12 KJV
Continue in His Goodness
Behold therefore the goodness[G5544] and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness,[G5544] if thou continue in [his] goodness:[G5544] otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. – Rom 11:22 KJV
Exceeding Riches
Is God able to show the exceeding riches of His grace in His goodness through your testimony?
That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in [his] kindness[G5544] toward us through Christ Jesus. – Eph 2:7 KJV
Put on the Goodness of God
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness,[G5544] humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; – Col 3:12 KJV
