THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING THE CROSS

Dear Lord, thank you for loving us. You are our Daddy, Abba, Father. We love you so much, Father; and we thank you that we can come boldly before Your throne of GRACE.  THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING THE CROSS. How did it feel to carry the world on your shoulders? What was it like to hold all the weight of our sin? How much did it hurt when it seemed like Your Father forsook you?

 [Mat 26:28 KJV] 28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

[Mat 27:46 KJV] 46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

CHOOSING: decide on a course of action

FORSAKEN: abandoned or deserted.

• But you carried the pain and endured it all for us
• Thank you for the price that You paid
• You knew it would come
• And You knew it would hurt
• But You still chose to carry it al
• Thank You for choosing the Cross

JESUS was the SON OF GOD, but He still had the chose NOT to go to the CROSS. When I read the scripture, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” it reminded me that Jesus was MAN on earth. He had to eat, bath, sleep, walk, talk and feel just like us. And at that critical moment in time, He did feel that His FATHER had forsaken him. But He knew there was one more step to complete His assignment.

I’ve read that scripture many times, but today, as I wrote those words, my heart broke for JESUS at that moment. 

• Oh His blood was shed to set me free
• On the Cross that stood on Calvary
• Oh the Blood of Jesus makes me clean
• Oh the Cross, it is my victory

[Jhn 19:30 KJV] 30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

Once He said this FINAL WORDS, “IT IS FINISHED!” His assignment was completed. God sent Him on earth for a time and a season and a reason >>> “IT IS FINISHED” >>> to defeat satan’s hold of us. AND HE DID! HALLELUJAH and AMEN.

Dear Lord, we are thankful for those THREE FINAL WORDS – IT IS FINISHED! that JESUS spoke for us. He endured anguish (severe mental or physical pain or suffering) to reach those final minutes on earth as a man.  And because HE ROSE FROM THE GRAVE >>>> HE LIVES. He gave us the FREE GIFT OF SALVATION (forgiveness of sins) and our mansion in heaven. As the days grow closer to the celebration of that moment, we reflect on what YOU DID FOR US “PERSONALLY” because Your LOVE us personally. 

IN YOUR STILL, SMALL VOICE, we will hear, “I AROSE FOR YOU!”
