REST IN THE LORD – PSALM 37

Dear Lord, thank You for loving us. You are our Daddy, Abba, Father. We love you so much, Father, and we thank You that we can come boldly before Your throne of GRACE. REST IN THE LORD – PSALM 37. Be still and wait, wait for the Lord. Be still and watch for the Lord. For You are our stronghold.

PSALM 37

REST IN THE LORD (a poem by William Havergal ((1793-1870) and Psalm 37).

Psalm 37, 40 verses written by David that explains what it means to delight yourself in the Lord. To commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him. To find peace, protection, and satisfaction in a surrendered focus upon God.

[Psa 37:3-5 KJV] 3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; [so] shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. 4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring [it] to pass.

So cease to worry, fret, or fear
Now rest, O soul of evil here
For all will fade like grass and die
But young and old, the Lord is nigh
So trust in the Lord, serve friend and foe
Delight in Him and hearts will grow

[Psa 37:4 KJV] 4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

To love Him more than earthly things
The meek find peace, the righteous sing

[Psa 37:11 KJV] 11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

THE LAMB WAS SLAIN

Thank You, Jesus, for being the LAMB. You knew the results of your arrival on earth as a babe in a manager, to your departure on the CROSS at CALVERY. YET STILL, You came for us! And because You did, we have the assurance that our life on earth is the end of our physical body, but the start of our life with You in heaven. Halleluiah and Amen to the glory of God.

And from our sin, the Lamb was slain
To bear each load and ease our pain
And now His blood, His righteousness
He is the rest in our distress
And when at last we fall on sleep
No heart shall throb, nor eyes shall weep
Then, blessed Savior, let it be
That You shall write, “Now rest in me.”

[Psa 37:7 KJV] 7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

You are our stronghold,
You save us, defend us
I will rest,
I will rest in the Lord
For You are my Refuge, my Defender and strength
No evil can stand to the Lord’s upheld hand
O help me to speak of the truth in Your Word
And rest in Your mercy
I will rest, I will rest in the Lord.

[Psa 37:40 KJV] 40 And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

ETERNITY

IF you have not accepted Jesus into your heart, now it is the time. He is waiting to hear from you. In a moment, your life can change from a sinner to Christian!

Dear Lord, we come before You with a heart that is committed to You. To Your ways and plan for our lives. You created us for a time such as this, on this day, July 7, 2023, to share Your MESSAGE OF CROSS. You are not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

[2Pe 3:9 KJV] 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

David was a man who pursued after God’s heart that loved and valued the same things You do. It is also our desire to live for you as well. This is the day that You have made and we shall rejoice and be glad in it. PSALM 118:24.
