Dear Lord, thank you for loving us. You are our Daddy, Father, Abba. We love you so much, Father, and we thank you that we can come boldly before your throne of GRACE.  HE GAVE HIMSELF.  Before the fall of man God had a perfect plan,To fellowship with us was His desire. But Adam disobeyed, To sin became a slave, Now a perfect sacrifice would be required.

[Rom 5:8 NIV] 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

HE GAVE HIMSELF

GAVE: freely transfer the possession of (something) to (someone); hand over to. 

• He gave Himself to pay a debt I could not pay.
• When I was lost, He gave Himself to be my way.
• Though I deserved to be upon the cross that day,
• In love He took my place, and gave Himself.

DEBT: something that is owed or due

JESUS GAVE so we could be assured of our eternal home in heaven with Him where we will see Him FACE to FACE.

HOW HE PAID THAT DEBT

When we think about HOW HE PAID THAT DEBT, it is overwhelming to imagine the pain he suffered for us.  

• My nails were in His hands,
• My crown of thorns He wore,
• My stripes were on His back,
• My heavy cross He bore.

VICTORY: the act of defeating an enemy or opponent in a battle

• And when God turned His back
• He turned it on my sin,
• Jesus won a victory that I could never win!

GAVE > DEBT = VICTORY

• No greater love is known,
• No greater love is shown,
• Than when one lays His life down for a friend,
• But Jesus died for me
• When I was His enemy.
• A love like this I cannot comprehend.

[Jhn 15:13 KJV] 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

This is the day that we have ASSURANCE of our salvation because of the DEBT JESUS PAID. When times look bleak, and our hearts are hurting > let’s STOP and GIVE THANKS to JESUS for what He did for us. Because He lives, we CAN FACE TODAY and TOMORROW with thanksgiving in our circumstances which is the WILL OF GOD.

PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER because JESUS prayed for us!
