GOD OF REVIVAL
GOD OF REVIVAL are three words that can change a life, a family, a community, a state, a country, and the entire WORLD. If only we would grasp the meaning of the word REVIVAL.
Important to realize, the word REVIVAL means an improvement in the condition or strength of something.
Another key point > “the awakening or quickening of God’s people to their true nature and purpose.” Robert Coleman.
[2Ch 7:14 NIV] 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
With this knowledge of REVIVAL, henceforth, let’s delve into the inspiration of Brian and Jenn that inspired them to write the lyrics of this powerful message to us.
INSPIRATION
To clarify the inspiration > “People a lot of times think of revival as a series of meetings in a tent but revival is a state of the heart that’s awakening to who God is and His kingdom. When we led this song at school, everything on the recording is from that first time we led it which I think is really cool. Therefore, until you know the context of who the song was written for (the church) and sing it together you don’t know the song yet or what it’s going to do.” – Brian Johnson (Bethel Music)
In order to understand my heart for this article, I want to share that in my earlier days of faith, I remember attending these TENT and HUGE CHURCH revivals. But sad to say, as I reflect on those days, they were more of a SHOW than the true meaning of the biblical REVIVAL.

Must be remembered, I am BLESSED and LOVED by GOD! Hallelujah and Amen. I gave HIM my life and HE gave me the desires of my heart to write to you!
Therefore, he led me to this movie for a reason. And he also revealed the negative comments about this movie – basically from non-believers and religious people. So, this set me on a journey to PROVE that this movie was scripturally based.

INSPIRATION FOR I AM GABRIEL
To point out, I AM. . . GABRIEL is an inspiring Christian movie about miracles and revival. Screenplay by Michael R. Norris, an American actor. He is the eldest son of the actor and martial arts champion Chuck Norris and his first wife, Dianne Holechek.
MIKE NORRIS: The genesis of the idea was from a story that the executive producers had. The Prayer Messenger. Basically, our company, 2nd Fiddle Entertainment, took a small story to convert it into a screenplay. So, they came up with the overall theme of the film and then the screenplay. What I was thinking about it (was that) it maybe it dealt a little bit with what our country is going through a little bit right now. There’s a lot of places that people have lost hope (but) you’re never hopeless. You may lose hope but you’re never hopeless with Jesus Christ.
MOVIE REVIEWS
To point out, in light of the movie theme, some reviews are through the eyes of the unsaved and religious. People who don’t know the WORD of GOD. Hence, they don’t read their Bible to grasp the LOVE GOD has for his children. In the long run, this movie is about GOD’s children who have lost HOPE. The devil took up residence and tried to destroy the town of PROMISE.
To emphasize, God intervened and sent his ANGLE to restore their HOPE.
To summarize, it is a story of VICTORY. A story of GOD’s LOVE. It is a story of SALVATION.
In effect, what it IS NOT is “JUST A STORY“. It is a movie that drew me deeper into the WORD to discover the POWER of ANGELS to deliver GOD’s message to his people. “GOD LOVES YOU” is a phrase that Gabe uses throughout this movie. In addition, “IT WAS NOT ME” > he gave all the glory for the miracles and healings to GOD.
GOD DIRECTED ME TO THIS MOVIE
Expressly, God is Good. He directs me to movies. But this week, he did more than just lead me to watch it again. He also led me to the song, GOD OF REVIVAL, as a match to share this post. It was so appropriate to this movie. As can been seen, LIVES drained were REVIVED to LIFE again. Hallelujah and Amen.
Consequently, there are people who do not believe in ANGELS and do not believe that ANGELS are used by GOD. In the final analysis, the WORD is clear that GOD USES ANGELS to deliver his messages!!!

APPEARS TO DANIEL IN A VISION
Gabriel speaks with Daniel, the prophet and sage. God sends Gabriel to Daniel in response to Daniel’s prayers (and confusion about those visions).

These scriptures are proof that there are BIBLICAL references to I AM … GABRIEL.
GABRIEL comes in response to PRAYER!
In other words, this is exactly what happens in I AM. . . GABRIEL. Maybe it will happen in other parts of the world, if God’s people see this movie, humble themselves and turn to God through the blood of Jesus Christ, which was shed to deliver us from sin and all kinds of desolation.
GABRIEL’S OPENING PRAYER TO GOD
My Lord, You’ve put Your hand on this town. I can see it. Just as easily as I can see the enemy moving. You’ve given me confidence and now they’re starting to feel the strength of Your hand and the depth of Your love for them.
In a word, WOW! God chose one boy, Gavin Catalano, to portray GABRIEL. As a matter of fact, this boy with piercing blue eyes had the ability to evoke such great emotion as he represented GOD’s ANGEL. If you are willing, God will use you!

MIRACLES BROUGHT REVIVAL
Therefore, GOD sent his ANGEL, Gabriel, as a child to a town called PROMISE that lost HOPE. This little boy brought REVIVAL to lost and hurting people!
Most importantly, as Gabriel performed GOD’S MIRACLES, he always said, “IT IS NOT ME!” Therefore, He gave all the CREDIT TO GOD.
- He restored LIFE to:
- teenager who overdosed on drugs
- an alcoholic whose back was broken in an accident
- barren woman to conceive a child
[Mat 10:8 KJV] 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
- restored sight to the blind
[Psa 146:8 KJV] 8 The LORD openeth [the eyes of] the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous:
- turned a bottle of water into a RAIN
[Lev 26:4 KJV] 4 Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
He proved the HUMAN INTEREST story to the reporter
[Jer 29:11 NIV] 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
As well as leading two men to the LORD by sharing HIS LOVE OF GOD.
The most compelling scene for me was when he escorted DOC home to be with Jesus! The look of JOY on Doc’s face because he knew he was going home to Jesus.
To summarize, I AM GABRIEL reminds us that GOD can send his ANGELS among us when needed. Not surprising, the HOLY SPIRIT also sent me to this song, ANGELS AMONG US, as the finale for this article. It brought tears to my eyes!!!

FINAL ANALYSIS
IN THE FINAL ANALYSIS of this song/movie, I want to challenge YOU to share your faith with another. REVIVAL starts when one person SPEAKS THE WORD OF GOD to a lost and hurting world. We are GOD’s voice to speak the WORD.

Therefore, don’t be concerned about what you will say ..

To enumerate, YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD and He LOVES YOU. He hears your prayers and sends ANGELS, or people, to provide your answer. BUT it all starts with a PRAYER. A conversation with GOD, your creator. The one who knew you before you were born. And who created YOU for a time such as this!!!
