Down on your KNEES
When I saw the title of this song, it immediately drew me in. I had to press the PLAY button.
From the beginning to the end of this song, my emotions went on a roller coaster ride of memories of Psalm 34:17 When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. There are 100 BIBLE VERSES relating to the phrase FALL ON MY KNEES related to PRAYER. Reading through the 100 opened my eyes to the importance of PRAYER to God. He wants to communicate with us. God wants us to ask Him QUESTIONS. And, he is ready, willing, and able to guide us to his PROMISES to BLESS US.
PRAYER is our request made known to GOD and HIS response to US
6 Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
PRAYER: a solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God.
SUPPLICATION: the action of asking or begging for something earnestly or humbly.
DID YOU KNOW?
This is one of the most comforting and encouraging texts in the Bible. Believers can always find renewed strength here. The wonderful truth is that God is present with us always. He is near to every believer every moment of every day and He knows what we are going through.
Hence, ‘Fall on my knees’ relates to PRAYER! That powerful communication between man and GOD, our LOVING, HEAVENLY FATHER. A time to ask Him for HELP with direction in our lives.
CALL GOD in time of trouble > HIS # IS HELP!!! Jeremiah 33:3 3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
GOD ALWAYS HEARS OUR PRAYERS
Our CRY for HELP (shed tears, typically as an expression of distress, pain, or sorrow) is heard by God. Sad to say, most of the time PRAYER is the LAST thing we do instead of the FIRST thing. Our human mind seeks a WORLDLY solution that rarely solves the CRY for HELP.
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
PRAYER IS OUR DIRECT CONNECTION TO GOD
When we call on GOD, is a direct connection > never a BUSY SIGNAL or VOICEMAIL!!!
Therefore, there is no NEED for long prayers of empty words. The shortest PRAYER that GOD hears is ‘HELP’!
1 Chronicles 16:11 Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!’
Hebrews 4:16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Jeremiah 33:3 Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.
1 John 5:15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
Psalm 18:6 In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears.
Psalm 55:22 Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.
Psalm 145:18 The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
PRAYER IS OUR POWERFUL TOOL AGAINST THE DEVIL
According to the WORD, God has commanded us to pray. If we are to be obedient to His will, then prayer must be part of our life in Him. Colossians 4:2 “Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;”
Matthew 6:5 “And when you pray …”
Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.”
Matthew 6:9 “This, then, is how you should pray …”
Romans 12:12 “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer
Matthew 5:44 “Pray for those who persecute you”
1 Thessalonians 5:17 “Pray continually”
1 Timothy 2:1 “I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone …
DEMONSTRATION of PRAYER by JESUS
Jesus was, and is, an awesome TEACHER. He taught his disciples with instruction and also with examples.
Matthew 14:23 “After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray.”
Luke 18:1 “Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.”
Mark 1:35 “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”
Luke 6:12 “One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.”
Matthew 26:36 “Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, ‘Sit here while I go over there and pray.‘” –
Luke 15:16 “But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.”
JESUS INSTRUCTED HIS DISCIPLES AND US to ‘Pray then like this:’
Matthew 6:9-13 Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
“The God On The Mountain, Is Still God In The Valley”
In conclusion, regardless of where we are, GOD IS THERE WITH US.
When we are down on our knees, physically or spiritually, our CRY is heard by God. And HE RESPONDS, no matter the circumstances of our personal life or the world around us. He is personal, cares for us, and wants to commune with us through prayer.
