CHRIST THE SURE AND STEADY ANCHOR
Dear Lord, thank you for loving us. You are our Daddy, Abba, Father. We love you so much, Father, and we thank you that we can come boldly before Your throne of GRACE. CHRIST THE SURE AND STEADY ANCHOR In the fury of the storm. When the winds of doubt blow through me and my sails have all been torn. In the suffering, in the sorrow, when my sinking hopes are few. I will hold fast to the Anchor it shall never be removed.
[Heb 6:19 KJV] 19 Which [hope] we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
CHRIST THE SURE AND STEADY ANCHOR
ANCHOR: What is a spiritual anchor? A boat anchor helps keep a boat attached to one place on the ocean floor so that it does not go adrift in the sea. Likewise, a “spiritual anchor” is something that helps keep us grounded, connected to what matters most, and able to cope with the challenges that life bring.
- While the tempest rages on
- When temptation claims the battle
- And it seems the night has won
- Deeper still then goes the Anchor
- Though I justly stand accused
- I will hold fast to the Anchor
LIFT OUR EYES TO CALVARY
- This my ballast of assurance
- See His love forever proved
- I will hold fast to the Anchor
- It shall never be removed
JESUS calms the seas and lifts us out of the storms of life. When we keep our eyes on HIM, we walk on walker. But when the winds and rain come back into our vision, we begin to sink as Peter did! Thus, the reason we need to keep our focus on Him. When the trails and tribulations of life, many times through the actions of the lost and hurting, come our way, we need to focus on JESUS and we will remain above the storm.
[Mat 14:27-31 KJV] 27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. 28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. 29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. 31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth [his] hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
HALLELUJAH AND AMEN
- Christ the sure of our salvation
- Ever faithful, ever true
- We will hold fast to the Anchor
- It shall never be removed
Praise the Lord, we have a SAVIOR that NEVER sinks in the midst of the storms. God never promised us a life without tribulation, but He did promise us JESUS. And when times get rough, and we feel like we are sinking, let’s replay this song as a reminder that CHRIST is our SURE and STEADY ANCHOR.
