An Open Invitation
Are you feeling weighed down by all of the chaos, sickness, death, and destruction we are seeing in the world? Do you want to know more about God, the Bible, Church, but just don’t know where to start? Well, God has sent an open invitation to you to come and learn of him and to find rest. That open invitation is through Christ Jesus. Jesus is my Lord, and I love him because he first loved me.
Come and Rest
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Matthew 11:28-30
You Don’t Know What I Have Done
You may be thinking that you don’t deserve the rest that Jesus is offering. You’re right. Check out what Peter told the very people who were responsible for having Jesus crucified after they asked Peter what they must do to be saved.
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Acts 2:39
The Bible tells us that all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23, 5:12). That’s right, and if we are trying to be righteous by the law and have committed any sin, we are guilty of all (James 2:10).
But God wrapped himself in a cloak of flesh, came to earth to be born of a virgin to take away the sin of the world because of his great love for humanity!
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16
Who Am I?
You definitely fit into the category of “whosoever” which means that you can be saved. Jesus has already paid your debt in full. He wants to fellowship with you and for you to get to know who he is and who he has created you to be.
For the scripture says, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Romans 10:11-13
Come Just as You Are
The fact that you are reading this post right now testifies that the Holy Spirit is drawing you into a relationship with our Father through Jesus. God will never force himself on you, but he is sending an open invitation.
And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
Revelation 22:17
