WHERE IS THE LINE TO SEE JESUS?

WHERE IS THE LINE TO SEE JESUS?

Where is the Line to SEE JESUS?

WHERE IS THE LINE TO SEE JESUS?  A POWERFUL reminder of what the Christmas Holiday is all about. It is more than the visiting Santa Claus at the store and WORLDLY GIFTS given to one another, but about the ONE GIFT GOD GAVE TO SAVE THE WORLD.

The lyrics from this song spoke to my heart:

Where is the line to see Jesus?

Is HE here at the Store?

If Christmas time is His Birthday?

Why don’t we see Him more?

Where is the line to see Jesus?

He was born for me.

Santa Claus brought me presents,

But Christ gave His life for me.

To point out, In the eyes of the WORLD, the Christmas Holiday is all about a BIG MAN IN A RED SUIT named SANTA CLAUS. Coupled with children lined up in the stores for their chance to tell him what they want for CHRISTMAS. It is homes and stores decorated with lots of festive holiday decorations. Then I researched how this SANTA CLAUS tradition began.

THE CHRISTMAS TRADITONS

According to history.com

The name Santa Claus evolved from a monk named St. Nicholas. It is believed that Nicholas was born sometime around 280 A.D. in Patara, near Myra in modern-day Tukey. The name Santa Clause is from Nick’s Dutch nickname, Sinter Klaas, a shortened form of Sint Nikolas (Dutch for Saint Nicholas).

In 1804, John Pintard, a member of the New York Historical Society, distributed woodcuts of St. Nicholas at the society’s annual meeting. The background of the engraving contains now-familiar Santa images including stockings filled with toys and fruit hung over a fireplace.

1809, Washington Irving helped to popularize the Sinter Klaas stories when he referred to St. Nicholas as the patron saint of New York in his book, The History of New York. As his prominence grew, Sinter Klaas was described as everything from a “rascal” with a blue three-cornered hat, red waistcoat, and yellow stockings to a man wearing a broad-brimmed hat and a “huge pair of Flemish trunk hose.”

In summary, Santa Claus and Christmas trees have been around a long time, of which both non-Christians and Christians celebrate the season with decorations, trees, and gift giving.

WHY IS CHRISTMAS CELEBRATED ON THE 25TH

As a matter of fact, most Christians today probably can’t imagine Christmas on any other day than December 25, but it wasn’t always that way. In fact, for the first three centuries of Christianity’s existence, Jesus Christ’s birth wasn’t celebrated at all. The religion’s most significant holidays were Epiphany on January 6, which commemorated the arrival of the Maji after Jesus’ birth, and Easter, which celebrated Jesus’ resurrection.  The first official mention of December 25 as a holiday honoring Jesus’ birthday appears in an early Roman calendar from AD 336.

THE BIRTH OF JESUS

By the same token, Christians know the TRUE meaning of the holiday. No only, but also, Christians decorate their homes to celebrate the season, but they also HEAD to the front of the line at the MALL > the CHRISTIAN MALL called THE BIBLE. Let’s look at what the BIBLE says about this special day in history.

Whereas, Luke’s account of Jesus’ birth is beautiful in its simplicity. It tells a story of a husband and wife,  Joseph and Mary’s, journey to the birthplace of our LORD.  Not in a 5 STAR INN, but the lowest of conditions – a stable!

LUKE 2:1-20

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. 2. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) 3. And all went to be taxed, everyone into his own city. 4. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David) 5. To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. 6. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

IN OTHER WORDS, THERE WAS NO DOCTOR OR NURSE TO ASSIST!

In other words, there was no need for these “medical assistants” > GOD delivered his SON healthy. Most compelling evidence that GOD is the GREATEST PHYSICIAN!

7. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

In fact, typing this scripture, images of our modern ELABORATE BABY SHOWERS and GENDER REVEALS come into vision.  The THEME > only the BEST for our soon-to-be-born child. In contrast, Baby JESUS, OUR SAVIOR, The SON of GOD, was born in a stable, wrapped in swaddling clothes (narrow strips of cloth wrapped around an infant to restrict movement) and laid in a manger (a long open box or trough for horses or cattle to eat from).  NOT in a beautifully decorated CRIB decorated in a matching THEME for the new addition to the family.

FOR UNTO YOU IS BORN IN THE CITY OF DAVID A SAVIOR, WHICH IS CHRIST THE LORD

8. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shown round about them; and they were sore afraid. 10. And the angel said unto them, Fear not; for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all people. 11. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.12. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14. Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

THE SHEPHERDS WERE ANXIOUS TO SEE THIS MIRACLE

15. And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, Let us go even into Bethlehem, and see this thing, which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. 16. And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. 17. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. 18. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

Truly, Mary pondered everything in her heart to relive them later, and for all eternity. The wisdom she received carried her through the earthly life of her son. They reminded her that Jesus was the SON OF GOD.

19. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart 20. And the shepherds returned glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told to them.

LUKE’S BIRTH OF JESUS GOSPEL IS A MASTERPIECE, A BEAUTIFUL STORY MASTERFULLY TOLD

Therefore, I realized he never laid eyes upon the Lord Jesus personally. He did research into the accounts of his birth, death, and resurrection and communicated them in vivid narrative to bring the BIRTH of our Lord Jesus to life for us.  Luke’s BIRTH OF JESUS gospel is a masterpiece, a beautiful story masterfully told.

MODERN DAY CHRISTMAS vs. THE BIRTH OF JESUS

In fact, holiday movies depict decorated homes and stores with trees of lights and ornaments. In particular, families anticipation of opening the wrapped gifts of all shapes and sizes with their name on the tag.

CHRISTMAS is a time when CHRISTIANS should GIVE the best GIFT to everyone; the gift of SHARING THE REASON FOR THE SEASON.  The birth of JESUS who was born to die for our sins so we can live eternity in heaven with GOD, our heavenly FATHER, and JESUS CHRIST, our Lord.

THERE IS THE LINE TO SEE JESUS?

Most compelling evidence of the location is in the BIBLE, the WORD! It is HIS BIRTHDAY that we celebrate.  And that statement led me to research the DECEMBER 25th day.  ONE day, ONE birth, ONE GIFT that changed the world.

HISTORY.COM provides insight to this chosen day

All things considered > Was Jesus really born on December 25?   It is not in the WORD!

In fact, for the first three centuries of Christianity’s existence, Jesus Christ’s birth wasn’t celebrated at all. The religion’s most significant holidays were Epiphany on January 6, which commemorated the arrival of the Maji after Jesus’ birth.

The BIBLE doesn’t mention his exact birthday, and the Nativity story contains conflicting clues. Instance, the presence of shepherds and their sheep suggest a spring birth. When church officials settled on December 25 at the end of the third century, they likely wanted the date to coincide with existing pagan festivals honoring Saturn (the Roman god of agriculture) and Mithra (the Persian god of light). That way, it became easier to convince Rome’s pagan subjects to accept Christianity as the empire’s official religion.

BACK TO THE VIDEO

WHERE IS THE LINE TO SEE JESUS?

TO PUT IT IN OTHER WORDS, NO NEED TO SEARCH THROUGH THE STORE. The line starts in the WORD, LUKE 20;1-20, the BIBLE TRUTH of his recorded birth.

With this in mind, you can only imagine the reaction of SHOPPERS if there really was a LINE TO SEE JESUS at the store? WOW >> I can only imagine!!! WHAT IF … someone set up a BOOTH in the MALL to share the GOSPEL of this baby born in the manger.

As a result, this video took me down a path of understanding and a reminder of the TRUE MEANING of this holiday we call CHRISTMAS.

WHERE IS THE LINE TO SEE JESUS?

Is He here at the store?

If Christmas time is His birthday? Why don’t we see Him more? Where’s the line to see Jesus? He was born for me. Santa Claus Brough me presents, But Christ gave HIS LIFE FOR ME!

In the final analysis, Christmas is a time of celebration; a time when families gather together to enjoy a day of sharing their love for one another. A holiday that SHOWCASES, for the world to see, the story of OUR SAVIOR’S BIRTH along with SANTA CLUS at the MALL. Churches open their doors for, what has become, an elaborate production of the holiday. LUKE 2:1-20 told through adults and children acting the part of the original “chosen people of GOD” to share the story of THE BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST.

In essence, this CHRISTMAS season has taken me into a deeper study of the holiday. And the Holy Spirit has led me to some amazing insights through songs – I WON’T LET GO is one of those songs. To sum up this song, WHERE IS THE LINE TO SEE JESUS, OPEN YOUR BIBLE TO LUKE 2:1-20. You can go DIRECT to the front of the line. BUT, he is no longer in the manger, HE HAS RISEN!!!

Wishing you and your family a JOYFUL celebration of the BIRTH OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.
