LUKE 10:18 SATAN FELL FROM HEAVEN.
Who is Jesus talking to?
In “Luke 10:18, Jesus was talking to the “the seventy” of His disciples that had “returned again with joy.” The disciples had said, “Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through your name,” Jesus is telling them, “That’s no big deal, Satan fell from heaven like lightning.”
Satan is a defeated foe. Jesus tells these same disciples in the very next verse, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Hallelujah!
What does this mean for me?
This means that the only power the devil has in your life is what you choose to submit to him. Use your God-given power to resist the devil and watch him flee like lightning from you. The devil is the deceiver and the father of lies. Consequently, many people are still being deceived by his same old lies.
It’s your choice
You can choose today to be on the winning, joyful, triumphant, most powerful, victorious team by choosing Jesus!
Jesus went on to tell His disciples that having all this power and authority that had been restored to people here on earth wasn’t even the most exciting thing to be celebrating!
What’s more exciting than conquering my foe just as Satan fell from heaven?
Heaven!
Are you talking about the “pie in the sky” crap again?
This “religion stuff” is all in your head!
Colossians 1:21 says that people can be alienated and enemies with God in their minds. God loves you! He limited Himself and became a man to reconcile you to Himself. He paid the ultimate price to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in His sight. Notice this says “in His sight” and not in your thoughts and opinions or the thoughts and opinions of others. God sees you as perfect, and He wants to show you how to see yourself that way too.
I can’t live up to all of those rules and expectations
You don’t have to and you never will…have to! That’s what this site is about. Find out how God sees you, and YouWillWantTo see yourself that way too. There are many people who attend church, read the Bible, preach, and even teach about God, but they don’t really know Him? I know because I was one of those people. Jesus calls these people “hypocrites!” Jesus isn’t very nice about it either!
You bunch of hypocrites
In Matthew 7:21, Jesus calls these hypocrites out! In Matthew 23:15, Jesus tells the religious people of His day that they put up a bunch of effort just to make a convert who is twice as fit for hell as they are. And, I certainly don’t want to be on the receiving end of what Jesus is dishing out in these and many other verses just like them.
Jesus gets angry at the religious and forgives sinners
Many times, Jesus corrects the religious leaders while hanging out with the “worst sinners, unclean, and even dogs.” Jesus certainly isn’t someone to ignore or avoid! He’s my best friend. He wants to be yours too! Jesus also forgives the religious hypocrites. Whew!
Jesus is actually fun and nonjudgmental
Much of the world is hurting, scared, rejected, confused, etc. Some don’t realize they are choosing to stay in this state of mind, and others embrace it thinking they really don’t have a choice. The Bible says that you are chosen by God! Jesus has already paid the price to reconcile you to Himself. He is sending out an open invitation. Don’t be turned off by the people that call themselves the church; yes, that includes me! We are only perfect in Jesus’ eyes too.

Oh, and yes, the devil is real. When Satan fell from heaven in Luke 10:18, it is talking about his butt falling out of heaven like a bolt of lightning. I can see it smoking! His only weapon is deception, and his time is limited. With Jesus, we get to trample on Satan’s head! Hallelujah!
