I LIFT MY EYES UP TO THE MOUNTAINS

Dear Lord, thank You for loving us. You are our Daddy, Abba, Father. We love You so much, Father, and we thank You that we can come boldly before Your throne of GRACE. I LIFT MY EYES TO THE MOUNTAINS. Where does my help come from?

[Psa 121:1-2 KJV] 1 [[A Song of degrees.]] I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2 My help [cometh] from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

I LIFT MY EYES

LIFT: raise to a higher position

A worship song of few words, but it put a smile on my face. When we think about “where does our help come from?” in the human flesh, our thoughts gravitate to our job, family, friends, state… and for many, welfare. WELFARE is the reason we share the MESSAGE OF THE CROSS to open eyes to the where their HEAVENLY HELP COMES FROM. Today, the idea of lifting our eyes to the LORD is criticized; how sad!

Oh how I need you Lord
You are my only hope

The city of Jerusalem—the center of ancient Jewish worship—is perched high upon a hill. As worshipers traveled there for one of the three main yearly Jewish festivals, they traditionally sang “Songs of Ascent” while climbing the road into the city. The Jewish priests may have sung these Songs of Ascent (also called Pilgrim Songs) as they ascended the temple steps in Jerusalem. One such psalm states, “I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth” (Psalm 121:1–2, ESV).

Dear Lord, we lift our eyes to YOU this day. Because we know where our HELP COMES FROM, we give You thanks for everything. You are where our help comes from. As we open our eyes each day, we will give You honor and praise for another opportunity to share the Message of the Cross with this lost and hurting word. You came to give life, and life more abundantly in every area. But, it starts with LIFTING OUR EYES and HEART to You.
